ITINERARY: SAIGON – CITY TOUR – CU CHI TUNNELS – SAIGON

  • Morning: Take the morning trip to visit Independence Palace, also known at the Reunification Palace, The Independence palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu. It was the sight of the end of the Vietnam/American war in 1975, as a North Vietnamese army tank crashed through the gates. The tank is still located at the Independence Palaces’ property. Continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office. Followed by the remarkable site of the War Remnants Museum the museum has a vast display of the both the Indochina wars. In courtyard massive military vehicles are for exhibition as well as tiger cages for the visitor to get a feel on how it was to be a prisoner during wartimes. In the museum building itself, each floor will represent a separate theme from the war and the war crimes committed towards the Vietnamese people. We all have a lunch break and then keep doing the tour in the afternoon to visit the underground system.

 

  • Afternoon: 12:30 PM. We depart for Cu Chi Tunnels. After 1.5 hour drive, we arrive at the tunnels where you’ll have the opportunity to explore the tunnel system, which includes narrow passage ways, hidden entrances, and underground chambers and learn about the daily life of the Cu Chi guerrilla fighters and how they managed to survive in the tunnels. You can crawl distances through the tunnels that were used by the guerrilla fighters during the Vietnam War. You may see kitchens, living quarters, among other things used during the war. Learn about how different types traps were created and set up. Visit the weapon rooms and learn how the ingenious soldiers made them. You can also safely try your hand at the shooting range with an AK-47. After exploration, we travel back to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive approximately at 3:30pm for the morning tour and 7:00pm for the afternoon tour.

How long in advance is it reasonable to book a flight ticket?
